Critical thinking as a strategic skill of the leader and the expert
Why it matters today
In conditions of high uncertainty, information overload and pressure for business results, the ability to think critically is a competitive advantage. Companies lose millions on wrong decisions, assumptions and unfounded conclusions. Critical thinking is a skill that protects the business from subjectivity, distortions and managerial «short circuits».
This training is for companies that want to:
— Improve the quality of management decisions at all levels
— Develop employees' analytical resilience and fact-checking skills
— Strengthen a culture of reasoned thinking rather than intuitive reaction
— Build teams capable of discussing, arguing and persuading rationally
At the training participants will learn to:
— Quickly and clearly separate facts from interpretations
— Identify logical errors, cognitive biases and manipulation
— Structure information and argue decisions
— Conduct a balanced assessment of risks and proposals
— Make decisions without distorting reality
Training format:
— Intensive practice: business cases, modelling real situations, debates
— Can be adapted to the industry: finance, audit, oil and gas, HR, IT
Goal: To develop participants' skill of systematic, analytical, reasoned thinking under information overload, emotional pressure and digital manipulation.

Module 1. What stops us thinking critically?
Tool: a map of cognitive biases + case work (analysing news, slogans, adverts)

Modern approach: lateral reading (cross-checking, Mike Caulfield's method)
Module 3. Argumentation beyond Toulmin
