The module is designed for specialists working in the oil and gas industry and aims to define the specifics of the oil and gas sector. The course covers in detail such issues as: pricing policy in the industry, economic and tax specifics of the industry, reserve estimation, possible risks and ways to overcome them, sources of industry financing, and the structure of modern oil companies.
An important feature of the module is the analysis of the development strategies of international joint-stock and state-owned oil and gas companies. Much attention is paid to hydrocarbon transport, both by sea and by pipeline.
A separate topic is devoted to the economics of liquefied natural gas (LNG): technology development, transport specifics, producers and consumers, LNG pricing models on the world's leading trading hubs, and the emergence of a gas market separate from oil.
